Narrow away win for Olympic Safi, gritty home victory for Singida Black Stars

It was a day of tight margins in TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup Match Day 3 Olympic Safi claimed a hard-fought 2–1 away win against San Pédro in a tightly contested Group A match, while Singida Black Stars edged past Otôho d’Oyo 1–0 in a tense and physical Group C contest.

Olympic Safi showed their intent almost immediately. Imad Khannouss opened the scoring in the very first minute, tapping in from close range after a delivery from Soulaimane El Bouchqali.

San Pédro regrouped and found their equaliser in the 36th minute when Aboubakar Karamoko finished clinically from inside the box following an assist by Issouf Dosso.

However, the visitors responded quickly. Just a minute later, Khannouss was brought down in the area, and Sofiane El Moudane converted the resulting penalty in the 40th minute with a composed finish into the top corner to restore Olympic Safi’s lead and give them the much needed victory.

Meanwhile, Singida Black Stars secured a narrow but deserved 1–0 win over Otôho d’Oyo, with Elvis Rupia’s first-half goal proving decisive. Singida started strongly and created several chances, most notably in the 20th minute when Joseph Guede Gnadou struck the left post from close range.

Their pressure paid off in the 37th minute when Rupia calmly slotted a left-footed shot into the centre of the goal from inside the box.

Otôho d’Oyo responded with greater urgency in the second half and created a number of opportunities. Japhet Mankou came closest in the 74th minute, but his effort was superbly saved by Metacha Mnata.

In stoppage time, Ibrahima Traoré headed over from close range following a corner, a moment that summed up Otôho’s frustration in front of goal.

The two results sees both Olympic Club de Safi and Singida Black Stars move up to second place in their respective groups.
