The Spain international had a difficult start to his Blues career after arriving from Brighton & Hove Albion, but has since had a tremendous turnaround.
He is currently one of the first names on the teamsheet and recently dominated Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal in the Champions League.
Romano has now revealed that Cucurella signed an improved contract back in August, but the Blues have not officially confirmed the news.
He said: “I can confirm he signed an improved contract at Chelsea in August. It was not publicly announced, but it is done.”
Chelsea entertain Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday. They have the opportunity to reduce the six-point deficit to the Gunners at the top.
Cucurella will have a big part to play in the encounter. He will come up against Bukayo Saka, who is one of the best wingers in the league.
